Key Components of Your Fieldwork Experience:

  • Onset of Fieldwork: Your journey begins upon securing a qualified supervisor, signing a supervision contract, and initiating behavior-analytic coursework at the undergraduate level or higher. This foundational step ensures that your fieldwork experience is grounded in robust educational and professional principles.
  • Accrual of Fieldwork Hours: Methodically, you will accumulate fieldwork hours, adhering to a structured schedule that allows for no fewer than 20 and no more than 130 hours per month. This steady pace is essential for maintaining a manageable learning curve and ensures comprehensive exposure to practical experiences.
  • Client Interaction: You will engage with diverse clients under the meticulous guidance of your supervisor, gaining hands-on experience in various settings. It is crucial that your training involves direct service provision in a professional environment free from personal conflicts of interest.
  • Duration and Diversity of Experience: The fieldwork must be completed within a five-year period, offering an intensive and wide-ranging experience that hones your ability to handle multiple client scenarios effectively.

It is important to note that this course will focus exclusively on Supervised Fieldwork, requiring all supervisees to accumulate the full 2000 hours. We will not cover the Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork option in this curriculum.

Throughout this course, you will also identify and participate in acceptable activities that enhance your development as a behavior analyst. Supervisors will ensure that each activity is purposeful and aligns with the fieldwork goals, setting the stage for your success in meeting the BCBA certification requirements.

By the end of this course, you will not only be prepared to fulfill the BCBA requirements but also equipped with the skills and knowledge to positively impact the field of behavior analysis. Let us begin this journey with dedication and enthusiasm, ready to tackle the rewarding challenges of becoming a BCBA!
